The certification ladder — and where it ends

The Standards Institution of Israel awards a tiered quality mark according to how many standards an organization holds simultaneously. I led two organizations to the Diamond Mark — Hagihon and the Mei Shva water corporation — seven standards in parallel, the highest tier awarded. The work with Hagihon and Mei Shva was covered in the press and in the Standards Institution’s own announcement.

I led Hagihon and the Mei Shva water corporation in building an integrated management system that met seven ISO standards in parallel, earning the Standards Institution of Israel’s Diamond Mark.

Building operational metrics and connecting them to business targets, including a management dashboard and a continuous-improvement model embedded in daily work.

Closing gaps against legal requirements

Compliance audits for database classification and a work plan to close the gaps, alongside a risk- and regulation-based method for handling information security incidents.

On AI: the standard before the hype

ISO 42001 is a management system standard — exactly like ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, only its subject is artificial intelligence. That is precisely the work I do: translating an external requirement into work processes, accountability and controls that someone actually operates.

I’m Romy Dar, an organizational development consultant. The principle that guides me is simple: an organization does not improve because of a document, but because people understand why they are doing something differently from yesterday.

My work moves between three planes that are hard to separate — the external requirement (a standard, a regulator, a board), the internal process (procedures, metrics, controls) and the people who are supposed to operate it. Treating only one of them produces a certification that fades within a year.

Alongside consulting, I’m also a judge in the Israel National Quality and Excellence Award, a member of the ethics committee of the Israeli Association of Organizational Consultants, and a co-author of the code of ethics for organizational consultants in Israel.
